July is a month when summer schools are held. Ever heard about DMP?

"Discover Management Program (DMP) is an intensive seminar which requires no previous business and management background, just large doses of intellectual and emotional energy to embark on a journey through all major aspects of management."

What is DMP from a student's perspective?

From my own experience, what makes DMP special is the fact that in the middle of summer, you are at amazing Bled, meet students from so many different fields and countries (who knows, maybe future business partnerssmiley ), all that while at the same time learning all time, in beautiful school's building, library, and sometimes even at the green back yard of the school.

Director of DMP is professor J.B. Kassarjian from Babson College, with more than 40 years of experience in teaching executives. He, together with professors Nadya (about her, you can read here) and Nenad Filipović will guide you through new and faster way of learning by active participation.

The Program takes you on a journey through all major aspects of management practice, including business problem solving, value-chains, industry and competitive analysis, income statements and balance sheets, teamwork skills, assessment of financial and personal performance, strategic innovation, financial ratios, cash flow and cost accounting, operational excellence, presentation skills. Among the major objectives of the Program are sharing of experiences, views and ideas among the participants from East and West and establishing networks with colleagues from all over the world.

Participants are divided into groups (btw, in your group will be people who you have never seen before, but believe me, it will be fun) and all groups have tasks to solve case studies of some of the most successful companies today. Beside case studies, groups then present their solution. You will learn how to present it better, by listening feedbacks of your DMP classmates. The emphasis of the Program is on participative learning. This involves a combination of case studies and discussions, role-play and group work, with participants assuming responsibility for their own personal development.

Interested in DMP and wanna find out more, or have any question? Then write to DMP program manager and contact person Saša at sasa.pavlovski@iedc.si and be sure that you will get all answers.
