Beta Gamma Sigma award at CENTRUM!!

In October was held in the auditorium of CENTRUM the awards to the students and teachers who are now members of Beta Gamma Sigma.
Beta Gamma Sigma is an honor society for business students and scholars. Founded in 1913 at the University of Wisconsin, it has over 700,000 members in AACSB-accredited business schools. The purpose of Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business and to foster staff and professional excellence among its members.
On Friday April 29, in the city of New York, in 2011 AACSB International Conference and Annual Meeting (ICAM), society Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) installed CENTRUM Católica Chapter, becoming the second business school in South America to get such recognition (after the Fundação Getulio Vargas of Brazil). In this ceremony also was invested Dr. Fernando D'Alessio (the only board member outside the United States).
Membership Requirements include that a student must be in the top 10% of a bachelors degree business program or the top 20% of a business masters program, and I am very pleased to have been part of the students honored at the ceremony.

According to Beta Gamma Sigma website, the principles of the company are represented by three concepts that are reflected in its name:
Beta, the initial letter of the Greek word bebaeos, meaning honor. Honor is personal integrity and excellence of character. It is a prerequisite for those who guide others. It also encourages altruism and enhances the service and social responsibility.
Gamma, the initial letter of the Greek word gnosis, meaning knowledge. Wisdom is knowledge forged by experience, avoid bias and insists on freedom of thought and expression. Those who are wise seek a more fruitful than it is known, is dedicated to the pursuit of understanding.
Sigma, the initial letter of the Greek word spoude, meaning seriously. Seriousness is measured by the achievement, reason and honesty. It is that dynamic quality that is essential to all great achievements. People who reflect the seriousness inspire confidence, and encourage people to generate progress.
