	From May 5 to May 12, a Wuhan University (WHU) delegation led by President Li Xiaohong paid a visit to Germany and France to recruit scholars, leading to increased interest in WHU from the overseas academic community. 
    

    
	The recruitment fairs, held in Munich and Paris, attracted over 200 foreign scholars in Europe. Dai Jiqiang, the Chinese Consul to Munich, and Dai Tianhua, the First Secretary Chinese Embassy to France Office of Education Service, were present at the fairs and delivered remarks. In his keynote speech, President Li Xiaohong introduced WHU’s strength across various disciplines, its rigorous academic environment, geographic advantages and modern facilities. He expressed his hope that more foreign scholars and overseas alumni could come to WHU and contribute to WHU’s development.
    

    
	Gong Jianya, Director of WHU’s State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing and a fellow of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Liu Chang, Head of WHU’s College of Physics and Technology, and Zhou Xiang, Head of the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences introduced the openings for scientists and engineers in their respective field. Zhao Longfei, Vice Director of WHU’s Department of Personnel, gave a detailed introduction to WHU’s development as well as its policies on cultivating talent.
    

    
	During the visit, President Li Xiaohong also met with outstanding scholars from European universities and institutions including University of Munich, Technical University of Munich, University of Stuttgart, Berlin Institute of Technology, French Academy of Sciences, École Polytechnique, École Normale Supérieure, Université de Paris I, Ⅵ, Ⅶ, Ⅺ, ⅩⅢ, who showed a great interest in WHU. Over 50 scholars expressed their desire to work at WHU and 20 of them will be introduced through the “State One Thousand Talents Project” and other national or provincial special projects.
    

    
	In recent years, WHU has attached great importance to overseas recruitment. For example, in March 2012, Vice President Li Qingquan led a WHU delegation to Japan and the United States for recruitment. The Department of Personnel and WHU colleges have also made great efforts to attract overseas scholars and experts.

	With the summer's coming, the graduation season begins. These days the students in Economic and Management School of Wuhan University are busily preparing for a graduation carnival night, the first graduation carnival that hold by E&M School.
    

    
	They have launched a series of activities, including casting a short film"Choice", preparing some programs and shows and collecting "confession photos" expressing the love for our school by thousands of students.

	The excellence of a school does not only come from its research level or high-status alumini, it also comes from the soft strength of people in the school. Wuhan University has launched an acitivity to encourage students to discover the greatness inside "small people" around us, they can be the dormitory adminitrator Uncle LI, or the Madam who sells fruits near the canteen. The result of the activity is surprising because we realized that there are so many shining points in the people we see every day but would never really get to know.
    

    
	Here are some of the most inspiring people that elected by students:
    

    
	1.Two generations of the film projectionist -XIAO Congwen and YU Shiping
    

    
	There's one tradition in WHU: watching the free open-air movie at each Friday evening and night. That's one of the students' favorite moment in a week.
    

    
	M. XIAO has been a film projectionist for around 50 years, no matter how hard the situation was, he never left this position, because he loves movie and loves the moment when students share the joyful moment together.
    

    
	
    

    
	Sometimes it rains, sometimes the mosquitos bite in summer night, but the students always come for the films, this became not just watching movies, but also a memory of school life and of their youth, which can never be back after graduated.
    

    
	
    

    
	The successor of M. XIAO is M.YU. He has took hands of this work for 20 years. Obviously this is a very boring work for many people, but Uncle YU never quitted it. When asked why not change a jod, Uncle YU said:"I know how meaningful it is to project films for students."
    

    
	YU grow up watching the film projected in Wuhan University because his father works here,he was appointted to be the new projectionist after he got the licences of film projection 20 years ago. Then, one film and another passed by, 20 years passed.
    

    
	They are the ryes of the film in WHU, but who can be the next projectionist is still undefined.
